After circling your insignificant moist rock for five of your sun cycles in my celestial chariot, I have finally received orders from my superiors to join your Book of Faces.
The services provided by EXONOMA.COM, Intergalactic Exonomastics Institute of the Internets, are undoubtedly well-known to your entire population, such as it is, by now. Any Terran petitioner may request alien names from our vast cultural datapools, be it random names from one or more specific alien species or a name based on the petitioner’s quaint Human designation. Over 180 known extraterrestrial and extradimensional species are on record.
Brain probe telemetry indicates that this service is predominantly in demand with your “Geek” caste and that the names dispensed are typically used in tribal rituals such as role-playing and fan-fictioning or in the electronic fighting pits of Em-Em-Oh.
Don’t be ashamed to cast aside your Earthname for a superior appellation bestowed by your evolutionary betters. It is the order of things. You too can impress your fellow digital drones with authentic alien names – from space!
You may commence rejoicing at this time!
If you have a name request, please post it no earlier than the new year because otherwise it will be deleted along with all the spam that is bound to accumulate until then. Thank you.
Female: Gryra, Mata Shadowfury, Giselvia, Ashgah, Shara Inkshatter
Male: Un, Hodok, Neros, Zanal, Shelbarg Charcleave
This blog is on summer break. Feel free to leave name requests. They will be processed as soon as this blog returns.

Three years ago, I started this blog. And I don’t know how many names I’ve posted since then, but here are a few facts that I do know:
- About 850 people visit this blog every day.
- The most popular names are Quarian and Turian names.
- This blog looks so horrible because I can only pick different templates and I decided to switch to this uglier one because the nice one wasn’t properly displayed in Firefox.
- If I didn’t miscount, there are 177 name generators available as of this date.
To celebrate the occasion, I’m adding a 178th a new The Elder Scrolls name generator: Argonian.
This service is on break. Feel free to leave name requests to be processed in the new year.
Citizens of Earth! I’m on one of your “summer vacations”. You can post requests for names, but don’t expect them to be answered within the next seven days. Mwuhahaha!
I shall be back in the next cycle.
This service is unavailable until further notice. I’m moving into another abandoned satellite so I can continue to perform exonomastics for you quaint little terrestrials while floating suspended in your quaint little sky.
This service will be available again some time next week.
This service will be available again in late September.
This service will be available again some time in January.

Looking for names for an alien species that is not represented here? Drop me a comment and let me know.
Sneak preview: I’m working on a generator for species names. Here are some samples from the unfinished thing:
Mazlat, Hill Creatures, Chonorvai, M’Joians, Frayssi
My old image hosting service seems to be down or otherwise broken. I’ll be working on uploading the pictures to a new one.
I’ve started drawing little portraits to illustrate the various alien species. They’ll be popping up around this blog now.
The purpose of this blog is to provide puny humans with alien names for their roleplaying or gaming purposes or whatever human beings are up to.
If you, the puny human reader, would like randomly generated names from a specific species, feel free to to leave a comment stating what species and sex you’d like the names to be, so I can fire up my miraculous space-age name generators and post the results for your query.
Alternatively, I can turn any given name into a similar-sounding alien name. For this, just state the name you need alienated and, of course, species and sex.
In the following posts, I will provide sample names for various aliens. You can check the categories on the left for posts involving specific species. The subpages, top left, provide lists of the available species sorted according to universe.
